A practical restaurant guide to adopting WEB-SRM
The transition to the new electronic transaction management system, WEB-SRM, is an important step for restaurateurs in Quebec.
As a reminder, the restaurant industry will be abandoning physical sales recording modules (SRMs) in favor of the new WEB-SRM technology. Thousands of restaurants will have to make the transition to the new certified system before the deadline. As the first to achieve certification from Revenu Québec, PayFacto is dedicated to not only meeting upgrade deadlines, but also to consistently delivering approved solutions through its Maitre’D and Veloce software. This promise is a testament to our dedication to our customers and our commitment to remaining at the forefront of technology.
To help you navigate this transition, we've prepared a short reference guide based on the questions we receive most frequently from our customers.
1.WEB-SRM adoption deadline Question
Question: What is the deadline for adopting WEB-SRM?
Answer: If you already own a restaurant, you have until May 31, 2025 to adapt to the new mandatory billing requirements.
This deadline gives you the opportunity to analyze the market and make the right choice of a certified sales recording system, such as Maitre'D PDV or Veloce PDV, which are examples of highly effective, industry-recognized solutions.
This modernized system will enable you to replace the traditional physical POS terminal with a solution capable of delivering electronic or printed invoices to your customers.
2. Notification to Revenu Québec
Question: Do I have to notify Revenu Québec once the WEB-SRM transition is complete?
Answer: WEB-SRM automatically transmits transaction data to Revenu Québec. However, it is advisable to check with Revenu Québec if additional notification is required to confirm the completion of your transition.
3. Security of transmitted data
Question: What security measures are in place to protect data transmitted via WEB-SRM?
Answer: The WEB-SRM uses a secure HTTPS connection, encrypted, guaranteeing the security of data exchanges with Revenu Québec..
4. Access to WEB-SRM reports

Answer: Reports generated by the WEB-SRM can be accessed directly at your point of sale. Annual reports will be available in paper format and an electronic version will also be sent to Revenu Québec when they are produced.
5. Network outage management
Question: In the event of a network failure, how does WEB-SRM manage reconnection and data transmission?
Answer: In the event of a breakdown, the system is designed to resume automatic data transmission to Revenu Québec as soon as the first transaction is made at your point of sale after the problem has been resolved.
